The College was chartered in 1974 by the New York State Board of Regents and is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. Our programs in Childhood Education (BS) degree) and Teaching of English to Students of Other Languages - TESOL (MS) received maximum national accreditation by TEAC/CAEP in 2014.
Boricua College enrolls an average of 1,200 full-time students in programs leading to Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, and Master of Science degrees.
The College received authorization, August 2008, from the State Education Department to offer the Masters in Teaching English to Students of Other Languages (TESOL).
Boricua has received authorization from the Student Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) to admit F-1 Visa holders; interested F-1 Visa holders should submit their application at the "APPLY NOW".
Retention and Graduation Rates
Boricua College, as all accredited universities and colleges in the US, provides official documentation regarding Graduation and Retention Rates for its students. The data must show the percentage of students who completed their degrees within 150% of normal time, that is what percentage of students complete their degrees within 3 years for a 2 year Associate's degree or within 6 years for a 4 year Bachelor's degree.
The overall graduation rate for all of our students, Associate's degree and Bachelor's degrees stands at 69%. The graduation rate for students pursuing Bachelor's degrees was 54% for the latest official cohort.
