About Project R.I.S.E

Project R.I.S.E was established to address the challenge of retaining first-year students by providing comprehensive support and fostering meaningful interactions within the Boricua College community. Through this project, we strive to create an environment where students feel empowered to seek assistance and engage actively in their academic journey.

• Retention: Keeping students engaged and enrolled is our priority. Through Project R.I.S.E, we implement strategies to reduce attrition rates among first-year students, providing academic support and addressing any barriers to their progress.

• Instruction: Providing quality instruction is fundamental to student success. Project R.I.S.E emphasizes effective teaching practices and curriculum development to enhance the learning experience for our students.

• Support: Supporting students is essential for their success. Project R.I.S.E offers resources such as academic advising, tutoring, counseling, and mentorship to empower students to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

• Enrollment: Our commitment to student success extends beyond admission. Project R.I.S.E ensures that enrolled students receive the support they need to thrive academically and personally, from course selection to transitioning to college life.

Our Progress

Since the inception of Project R.I.S.E, we have made significant strides in advancing our goals. Our team has been diligently working on various initiatives to support students and increase the retention rate of the university. Here are some highlights of our progress:

• Workshops for Students and Staff: We are in the process of developing workshops to introduce Project R.I.S.E to students and staff. These workshops will provide valuable information about the project and offer guidance on navigating the final steps of the first year at college.

• Introduction of Retention Software: To streamline our efforts in tracking student progress and engagement, we are excited to announce the introduction of a new retention software to Boricua College. This software will enable us to monitor student attendance, participation, and grades efficiently, facilitating proactive intervention when needed.
